Jingle & Glow Co installs Christmas lights and outdoor lighting in Zionsville, on the brick paved village frontages and on the wooded lots outside it.

The brick paved village along Main Street is unlike anywhere else we work: small, close set storefronts and older houses where the whole display is seen on foot. Out toward Holliday Farms and the newer streets, the lots open up and the trees are the reason to light the property at all.

A Zionsville estimate is usually walked at dusk rather than in daylight, because on wooded lots the question is which trees are worth lighting and you cannot answer that at two in the afternoon. The roofline is often the last thing we discuss rather than the first. You can read the whole sequence on our how it works page.

Whatever is being lit, the strands are cut to length on site from professional grade bulbs and wiring, which matters more on an old village frontage than anywhere else. Season long maintenance is included, and takedown in January is not an extra.

In the village the opposite is true. Those frontages are measured close in, at the window line and the door, because that is the distance they are seen from. Town information, including anything your own neighborhood publishes about exterior decoration, is on the Town of Zionsville site.

What lighting in Zionsville needs

The brick Main Street village

Storefronts and older houses seen from the sidewalk, where neatness and even spacing are the whole job.

Wooded lots

Zionsville has more tree cover than most of the county, and uplighting does more for those properties than a roofline ever will.

Long approaches

Newer Zionsville properties often sit well back from the road, so the drive and the approach are worth lighting first.

Getting to you

Getting to Zionsville from Sheridan

About twenty five minutes southwest on the county roads rather than down the 31 corridor. It is the same drive as Carmel, on quieter roads.

Questions

Questions from Zionsville

Do you work outside Hamilton County?

Yes. Zionsville and Whitestown are both in Boone County and both are inside our service area.

From Sheridan the run southwest is about twenty five minutes, which is the same as the drive to Carmel.

Can you light a house set well back from the road?

Yes, and on those properties the approach is usually where the money is best spent. A lit drive and lit trees along it do more than a brighter roofline.

We walk the approach at dusk from the road, because that is the view that matters.

Do you light storefronts in the village?

Yes. The village frontages are seen on foot, so they are lit close in: window lines, the door and the awning, at a scale that reads from the brick sidewalk.

Installs happen before opening so we are not working around customers.

Our lot is heavily wooded. What would you recommend?

Start with the trees. On a wooded Zionsville lot, uplighting two or three of the strongest trees changes the property more than anything you do to the house.

Then the entry, then the roofline, which is the reverse of the usual order.
